New Changes

Well It has been a time since I have posted anything, so first off
sorry for keeping you in the dark.

Well here is the news you are all craving for?

Management Changes.

Ken and Sue have moved on ? Ken finally got round to remembering why he and Sue came to the Dominican Republic for in the first place? and that was to Retire. As the Anchor was getting more demanding on his time and with Sue away looking after important family matters, it seamed just the right time for them both to sit back and watch the project they started 2 years ago flourish, and have been happy to leave it in good hands.

Also at this time due to health reasons Fabienne has decided to take time away to heal (no pun intended) and sadly left the Anchor, leaving Jean and a new member to the Management team, Alexis, who is no stranger to the Anchor as you know, who given the chance to join the Anchor as a partner, was more than keen to do so, with him doing so, turned down a chance to join a cruse ship company, but having been a valued member of the Anchor team for a while, had no hesitation and did not need to much time to think about it.

All members of the Anchor team past and present are more than happy with how the transition has gone and the direction at which The Anchor is heading in the ever capable and safe hands of Jean & Alexis.

So Jean & Alexis we would like to sincerely wish everyone good health and happiness for the future in all that you do and hope to see them and of course, all of you at The Anchor.

The Anchor Team.

Up date

Hi all just an update on life here at the Anchor,
Everyone here are looking forward to the warm and sunny weather to come
and with it lots of new friends and returning friends? old and new are ALL Welcome
here at the Anchor.

Things have been going very well after the turmoil of our recent renovations, as expected
not to many disruptions? over all, life went on, a little slower! but everything got done in the end.

There have been a few additions to our already extensive menu (to find out what?) you will have to pop in?
It will be worth it.

Change in the opening times with the start of Sylvia's Bistro on the following night has been well attended

The Bistro will be open for customers Sunday and Monday Thursday,Friday and Saturday nights 4pm till around 10pm depending on demand..
she will close on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

As this is a new venture for us, new ideas are coming and going, some work? and some don't?
but overall it has gone very very well, in particular the Dominican Night went better than expected
with a full house (more seats were needed and fetched) so everyone was catered for, as written
this is a new venture for Sylvia, in more ways than one, we feel that any ideas for a theme night (food) are welcome, so please pop in, let us know what you think.

News Form The Anchor

We have been asked on many occasions here at the Anchor to open in the evenings, This is not something we really wanted to do as a team, so after some thought? in view of the number calling for some place to eat and relax in the evenings, near the beach without Karaoke! so while we talked and mused it over then along came Sylvia with the answer to it all?

So Now Sylvia's Bistro will be the place that people can come and feel comfortable, enjoy fresh food and quench their thirst.

Sylvia will be going to open 5 evenings a week,as this will be her own show it will her own menu's.

The Bistro will be open for customers Sunday and Monday Thursday,Friday and Saturday nights 4pm till around 10pm depending on demand..
she will close on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

A New Year

Well everyone we are 14 days into the new year and are you keeping to your New Year resolutions?
Cutting out the full English Breakfasts can not be a big resolution as the sales of the aforementioned feast
has more than doubled from last year? value for your money looks like the thought of the day? you get what you pay for and more with this meal (best meal of the day by far) but on the whole, everything is going well and we at the Anchor would like to thank everybody for their continued support and custom.

The latest

Just a quick up date for the blog, Ruth has had a good response and will be doing her Turkey Butties on Christmas day,
We are very busy still Ken has sparks coming off him he's working so fast,he had been told him not to spin round so fast,we are worried he may end up with his undies on the outside of his pants, well it woked for superman.
But he is very busy as much with the take aways so if would like  bread/bagels/ curry sauce to take away try to give him plenty of notice.
Sue is also very busy with quiche and cookies for the cafe and take away,no power needed to make these so not as much of a problem but some power at some point in the day would be nice,
Ken as also made baked beans the reponse to them as been very good

We are also being asked now for things as specials, this is not a problem at all,if anybody has anything they would like just let us know and if its possible we will do it...

All Go @ The Anchor

We are getting very busy now here at the Anchor, with all the new items on the menu going down a treat, Ken is very busy making bread for the cafe and also for take away's,

In A Hurry Curry!
He is doing home made jars of curry sauce, that are also flying out of the door ( when he throws it lol)
People are comenting on the new look of the place and love what we have done the tables...
We have also had lots of bags school things plus other items donated to the Blanco Appeal  from two very kind regular customers so a big thank you, to you two special ladies.

Cakes and cookies (all home made) are proving as popular as ever, as well as Ruths butter tarts, she brought us in 13 Tarts in yesterday (buttered Tarts that is?) and we have sold them all in quick time, so we have had to order more, to keep up with extra orders? also with our first Sunday opening of the season tomorrow it is expected to be a busy day again so we hope the weather is nicer for our guests.
Thanks
Anchor Team.
